Surrey is located on the Lower Mainland on the south side of the Fraser River and shares a border with the United States. Within Metro Vancouver, Surrey is the largest city in land area, and second most populous city, with a population of more than 500,000, making it one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Home to one of the largest East Indian populations in Canada, Surrey also boasts the Cloverdale Rodeo, Bear Creek Park and Crescent Beach.
The region is one of the most ethnically diverse populations anywhere in Canada, with over 40% of residents speaking a first language other than English. You’ll find two of the largest shopping malls in Greater Vancouver, including Guildford Town Centre (with over 200 stores at 10355 152nd Street) and Central City (with over 130 stores as well as an SFU Campus at 10153 King George Boulevard). Some of the other Surrey Parks and Gardens include: Darts Hill Park, Elgin Heritage Park, Glades Garden, Holland Park, Redwood Park and Tynehead Regional Park.
